Buying guide: A closer look at the entire Redmi Note 11 lineup for 2022 so far

Xiaomi’s Redmi Note series is one of the most popular smartphone series in India and generates the majority of the company’s sales. But over the years, Redmi has increased the number of variants in the Note series, and the prices have also gone up. The latest entrants on the list are the Redmi Note 11 Pro + 5G and the Redmi Note 11 Pro. Other phones in the group include Redmi Note 11S, Redmi Note 11T, and Redmi Note 11.

This year’s lineup is a bit confusing, too. For one, three variants (Pro+, Pro and 11S) come with a 108MP camera, two of which are powered by the same MediaTek Helio G96 processor (Redmi Note 11S and Redmi Note 11 Pro). Still, there are some key differences in both phones. Here’s a detailed look at the Redmi Note 11 lineup, including pricing and specifications to keep in mind when considering the Redmi Note 11 this year.

Redmi Note 11 is the primary variant in every year’s lineup. This is also the only option starting at under 15,000 rupees in this year’s lineup. We don’t include exchange offers, bank discounts, etc. when you think about it, which may help lower the price even more for phones in general. Let’s start with the price as that is the key for most of the users who shop in this budget segment.

The Redmi Note 11 starts at Rs 13,499 for the base version with 4GB RAM + 64GB RAM. The cost of 6GB RAM + 64GB RAM is 1,499 rupees. Finally, the 6GB RAM + 128GB version costs Rs 15,999. For budget-conscious users, this is clearly an easy choice.

The specifications of the Redmi Note 11 include a 6.43-inch display with Full HD + resolution. This is an AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 90Hz. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor and also supports expandable RAM (up to 2GB) feature. Support for expandable storage is 1TB, although the phone has a dual-SIM hybrid slot.

The rear camera is 50 MP + 8 MP + 2 MP + 2 MP. The front camera is 13 mega pixel. Redmi Note 11 gets a 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging. The phone runs MIUI 13 based on Android 11.

What featured in our review Phone battery life and screen was good. The camera also performs well in good lighting conditions, but it is fairly in line with what one would expect in this segment. But the phone is not ideal for hard gaming.

The Redmi Note 11S is the next variant in the series, starting at Rs 16,499 for the 6GB RAM + 64GB version, followed by the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage option priced at Rs 16,999. The most expensive option is the 8GB RAM + 128GB option priced at Rs 17,999. By the way, Xiaomi seems to have lowered the prices of the higher variants.

Originally at launch, the 6GB + 128GB was priced at Rs 17,499, while the 8GB RAM option was priced at Rs 18,499. But on the Mi.com website, the prices reflected are now slightly lower.

The Redmi Note 11S has a 6.43-inch Full HD+ display just like that of the Redmi Note 11. Also, the refresh rate remains 90Hz. But this phone is powered by the more powerful Mediatek Helio G96 processor. The back camera is 108MP, which is an upgrade over 50MP. The other cameras remained the same: 8 MP ultra-wide, 2 MP macro and 2 MP depth. The front camera is 16 mega pixel. The battery and fast charging are the same as the Redmi Note 11. And yes, this phone also runs on MIUI 13 with Android 11.

As we noted in our review, Redmi Note 11S offers good gaming performance considering the price. The camera is also better due to the change in the main camera sensor, although there are some inconsistencies. Redmi Note 11S is for those who don’t mind paying the extra price for an upgraded camera and performance.

The Redmi Note 11T was launched last year and is the second 5G-ready phone in the series so far. The Redmi Note 11T was offered at the following prices: Rs 16,999 for 6GB RAM/64GB storage, 17,999 for 6GB/128GB storage and Rs 19,999 for 8GB/128GB storage. Current prices (according to Mi.com) are Rs 15,999 for 6GB + 64GB, Rs 16,999 for 6GB + 128GB and Rs 18,999 for 8GB + 128GB storage. So if you want a Redmi Note 11 with 5G, under Rs 17,000, this is another option.

The phone has a larger 6.67-inch HD+ screen, although this is an LCD screen and the refresh rate remains 90Hz. It is also powered by a Mediatek Dimensity 810 processor. This device has a no-frills rear camera, with Xiaomi committing to a 50MP + 8MP setup. The front camera is 16 mega pixel. The battery and charging are the same with the Redmi Note 11 and the Redmi Note 11S. The phone runs Android 11 with MIUI 12.5.

During our testing, we liked the Redmi Note 11T’s solid performance and good battery life. The camera also did well in most situations, although some aspects could lead to an improvement as we noted at the time. What was frustrating was the LCD screen. This is clearly a phone for someone who wants a 5G-ready device along with good performance.

Redmi Note 11 Pro

This time, Redmi introduced two Pro variants and the Pro Max is nowhere to be seen. Will it appear at the end? We don’t know that now. The Redmi Note 11 Pro comes in two variants. The 6GB RAM + 128GB version will cost Rs 17,999, while the 8GB RAM + 128GB version will cost Rs 19999. It will go on sale on March 23.

The Redmi Note 11 Pro has a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display and 120Hz refresh rate along with a 360Hz touch sampling rate for improved gaming performance. The phone works with a Mediatek Helio G96 processor, which is the same processor as the Redmi Note 11S. The phone continues with a similar 108MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP camera setup on the back as seen on the 11S. The front camera is 16 MP and the battery is 5000 mAh. But Redmi has introduced 67W fast charging here.

The phone also comes with LiquidCool technology to ensure better heat while gaming. However, it remains on Android 11 with MIUI 13 on top. So, if you want faster charging, better and bigger screen with higher refresh rate, then you should choose this Pro variant as it does not go beyond the Rs 20,000 price category.

Redmi Note 11 Pro + 5G

This title takes the most expensive Redmi Note to date. This is also the second 5G-ready phone in the lineup. The combination starts at Rs 20,999 for the 6GB+128GB option, and the 8GB RAM+128GB version will cost Rs 22,999. The most expensive option is 8GB RAM + 256GB, priced at Rs 24,999. However, Redmi has introduced an exchange program for the Pro + option, which could help bring the price down even more. This Redmi loyalty program is only for the Pro + variant.

Hereby, users who exchange an old Redmi phone will get an additional exchange bonus of up to an additional Rs 2,000. For example, if someone exchanges a Redmi Note 8 Pro and the value of the phone is 5,550 rupees, they will get an additional amount of 2,000 rupees. The total will be 7,550 rupees. This will bring the final price of the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ to Rs 13,449 (for the base 6GB option). This price assumes that you have an old Redmi Note, and that the phone is in good enough condition to fetch the aforementioned price.

The Redmi Note 11 Pro+ has the same screen as the Pro with 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling support. The battery remains 5000 mAh with 67W fast charging. It also has LiquidCool technology. The software is also MIUI 13 with Android 11. The main difference is about the camera and processor.

The Pro+ is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor. This also has a triple camera, which includes a 108MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. The front camera remains 16 megapixels. Both phones also come with dual speakers and keep the headphone jack. They also have a Hi-Res sound certification.

Redmi Note 11 Pro+ is for those who want 5G connectivity, faster charging and better performance. But this is at a slightly higher price.
