Apple today announced the iPhone SE 5G at its Spring 2022 event. The new iPhone SE 5G succeeds the older iPhone SE 2020 and comes with some much-needed upgrades. It will be available in India from March 18, although pre-orders open on March 11, here’s everything you need to know about the iPhone SE 5G, including price, specifications, new features and availability details.
Apple iPhone SE 5G: What’s new?
The iPhone SE 5G comes with much the same design elements as the older iPhone SE 2020. This includes a 4.7-inch Retina HD display with tempered glass on the front and back. But this time it has the same protective glass also found in the iPhone 13 series, which is an upgrade over the previous generation.
The iPhone SE 5G is also powered by the Apple A15 Bionic chip, which supports 5G. The A15 Bionic chip is the same chipset that was used in the Apple iPhone 13 series. This brings some powerful new additions to the SE series. This includes a six-core CPU, four-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine that enables features such as live text. Apple also claims that the new iPhone SE 5G also offers better battery life than its predecessor thanks to the new, more energy-efficient A15 chip.
The iPhone SE 5G has a single 12MP rear camera and an ƒ/1.8 main lens. The new camera supports features like Smart HDR 4, Photographic Styles, Deep Fusion and Portrait mode. The phone also comes with iOS 15 out of the box.

Pricing and availability
The iPhone SE 5G is priced at $429 in the US for the 64GB vase variant. However, the iPhone SE 5G price in India will be Rs 43,900, which is just over the iPhone SE 2020 launch price of Rs 42,500. The 128GB variant is priced at Rs 48,900 while the 256GB variant is priced at Rs 58,900. iPhone SE 3 is available in three colors – Midnight, Starlight, and premium Apple Product RED. Sale starts March 18, with pre-orders opening March 11.
