Blair Cobbs enters a boxing competition with Alexis Rocha with courage and anger, but for some reason, he walks away defeated. Here’s why.
Prior to his competition on March 19, boxer Blair Cobbs was speaking harsh words to Michael McKinson, but the truth collapsed on Cobbs in the form of powerful blows from Alexis Rocha, resulting in a 9 TKO round loss.
Cobbs (15-1-1, 10 KOs) has a talent for boxing, but he couldn’t match the hype coming from his lips. He’s entertaining and athletic but can’t live up to his self-proclaimed hype.
Cobbs is physically gifted and tough. He has a dynamic personality and personality. He is a professional at selling himself and tickets, something not all fighters can do.
However, having character and pizzazz is not a substitute for boxing skills.

Cobbs will probably get back in the ring, as he should, but he probably won’t be a world boxing champion, and that’s okay.
Not every fighter can become a hero. It’s a rare feat that only the most talented fighters can achieve.
Cobbs talks like he thinks he’s an A+ fighter when he’s more like a B-. Maybe that’s part of his job.
But if he allows himself to bypass his logical reasoning, he is only deceiving himself.

But this will not happen in boxing. Cobbs is too old to learn the new tricks he needs to develop as a boxer.
Instead of his loud, attention-seeking shows, Cobbs might be surprised how many people are drawn to real Cobbs. He overcame life’s formidable obstacles with an inner resilience that few possessed.
These are the things the heroes are made of, but he plays the sideshow game. He should let go of the act and embrace being the humble person who briefly reflects himself in his post-fight interview.
It’s hard to root for a villain who throws insults, but it’s easy to attract someone who will overcome the odds that life stacks against them.
In short, Copes should stop trying to be Ric Flair and show the world, Blair. He seems to be the type that people naturally like and is absolutely weak to human taste.
