Sean Murphy is back with the next chapter in DC’s White Knight universe, and as the title suggests Batman: Beyond the White Knight is set to bring another fan favorite to the world of Terry McGinnis’ Batman Beyond’s, we have an exclusive preview of Beyond The White Knight #2 for you here! The three new pages, which can be viewed below, feature a glimpse of Terry in his new Batman suit with what appears to be some blood on his fist, so it’s safe to assume that whoever was on the receiving end of that punch is the worst for him. Wear, wear. Then we take a look at the two forces defending the new, high-tech Gotham, who seem to be at odds.
First we see GTO led by Dick Grayson, who catches someone who looks a lot like Terry as he gets justice on his own hands. After taking him down, Grayson takes him away in person, but we’ll have to wait to see how this showdown turns out (and if this really is Terry and Grayson’s first showdown). The final page of the preview highlights the conflict between the GTO and the GCPD, as Commissioner Barbara Gordon sees screaming at Team Grayson.
ComicBook.com recently had a chance to talk to Murphy about what Terry and his crew have in store for Beyond the White Knight, and fans can look forward to a version of the character initially clashing with Bruce Wayne and the Bat-Family thanks to the manipulation of Derek Powers.
“The trick is there like Terry is the opponent for a while but I also don’t want to make him a bad guy, he’s obviously very likable and being lied to, so Terry is confused. With the painful loss of his father and the things going on in his family I think it makes sense that His brain is a bit muddled.” “He’s just looking for some direction. Derek (Powers) is taking advantage of that for his own purposes. It’s going to be up to Bruce to try and win over Terry, which is tough because Bruce doesn’t have the best track record of dealing with youngsters.”
