The House committee investigating the January 6 rioting at the US Capitol has a number of text messages between former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows and Jenny Thomas, wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, in which they talked about keeping Donald. Text messages exchanged between Thomas and Meadows were included in a trove of documents and letters that Meadows delivered to the Jan. 6 commission before he stopped cooperating with the investigation.
The commission did not speak to or deal with Thomas.

A spokesperson for the commission declined to comment on the content of the transcripts, but Washington Post And the CBS News They obtained copies of the letters reviewed by each news outlet and were confirmed by five people who had seen the commission’s documents.

NBC News has not reviewed the text messages. The Post and CBS reported that none of the letters referred directly to Clarence Thomas or the Supreme Court.
NBC News has reached out to attorneys for Meadows and Jenny Thomas for comment.
