Wonders of Tiny Tina Players got a free Skeleton Key this weekend as an apology for server issues surrounding the game’s launch. The game was released on Friday with full support across all available platforms, but players soon discovered that they were unable to play with each other due to issues with SHiFT, the online service that Gearbox uses to connect players to each other. However, this free Skeleton Key code has an expiration date, so players only have a limited amount of time to use while waiting for more after this date.
The SHiFT Status Twitter account tweeted about connectivity issues throughout Friday afternoon to keep players informed, but the issues were said to be resolved only after Friday. As a sign of appreciation to those who waited for issues to be resolved, Gearbox tweeted from the studio’s official Twitter account on Friday the Skeleton Key code.

To use this Skeleton Key, you first have to go to the game’s “Social” menu and then head to the “SHiFT” tab. Enter B36T3-KSZ6F-K5TKK-JJ3B3-B6B3J and you’ll see a confirmation that you’ve got a Skeleton key. Now, head over to the “Mail” tab and confirm that you want to receive the key. Once you’ve done all that, make your way to Brighthoof through the normal story progression until you see the big chest in the middle of town marked on your map. It can only be unlocked with Skeleton Keys and will contain some coveted loot.
This code expires on March 27th, so you only have one more day to redeem it before it’s gone. While you cash your codes, make sure Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford gets this week’s tweet in by entering JBRTT-BZH6F-CC3W5-3TTTB-XB9HH before March 31st.

While skeletal keys like this will likely be given frequently enough during the first few weeks of Wonders of Tiny Tina Being available, you may want to consider saving one or two and not use them all immediately after you retrieve them. The loot you get is matched to your level, so if you use too many keys at once, you’ll end up with more loot than you can actually take advantage of before leveling beyond its usefulness.
