On the eve of crossing the “shadow war” between Deathstroke CompanyAnd the BatmanAnd the RobinDC Comics has finally revealed a new character identity called Respawn. The young man was first introduced in RobinThe opening arc that revolves around human kombat– Similar to Lazarus Tournament and formed a bond with Slade Wilson/Deathstroke’s daughter Rose Wilson. Respawn is finally revealed at Deathstroke Inc. #7 In front of Slade and Rose, his origin story is related to the Batman Family and Ra’s al Ghul.
Deathstroke Company #7 By Joshua Williamson, Stephen Segovia, Hi-Fi and Steve Wands begins with Rose Wilson/Raffer and Respoon infiltrating the Slade complex in Zandia. Recent releases have featured Deathstroke taking control of a new secret society, and preparing for an upcoming war in dark crisis. Rose brings Respawn to meet Deathstroke and in the manner of comic book superheroes, a fight ensues. Deathstroke believes the person under Respawn’s mask is Damian Wayne, son of the current Batman and Robin, but Slade only has half the facts right. After removing Respawn’s mask, we see that the character is strikingly similar to both Damian Wayne and Deathstroke.
Rose tells Deathstroke that Respawn is his copy. Respawn has DNA from both Deathstroke and Talia al Ghul, but Talia is unaware of its existence. Ra’s Al Ghul is actually the person behind the creation of Respawn, and he detailed his entire origin to Deathstroke and Ravager. Respawn is one of many clones of Damian Wayne, but while the future Robin was treated as a prince, Respawn was used as a guinea pig. Whenever Damian suffers an injury during his training, Respawn’s body will be used to restore new organs, as he has some of the same healing factor as Deathstroke.
After years of torture, Respawn escapes and is found by the League of Lazarus, the shadow organization behind the Lazarus Tournament that promised to give the winner eternal life. Damian and Respawn fought during the tournament, but Respawn lost. Once Talia and Ra’s al Ghul arrived, Respawn set off and told Rose his story. In a sudden motion, Deathstroke embraces Respawn, calling him his son. Having already lost his son Grant, Slade welcomed Respawn into the Wilson family.
Unfortunately, when Wilson adopts a new brother, another is expelled. Rose is not a fan of all that Deathstroke Inc.’s sinister machinations have done. and challenges him to fight. Deathstroke vows to kill Ra’s al Ghul for what he did to Respawn. When Ravager asks Respawn to join her, he instead turns her on and kicks Rose out of a towering window. It’s now Deathstroke and Respawn versus Ra’s Al Ghul, which leads to “Shadow War.”
