Call of Duty 2022 Leak reveals new DMZ details

Activision has not yet revealed any specific details regarding the next game in its Call of Duty franchise, but a number of rumors have been circulating about the game. One of those rumors focused specifically on the new “DMZ Mode.” At this time, details are sparse, but note a Call of Duty leaker Tweet embed A new update, stating that the mode has a minimum of four maps, is currently under development. Also note that the mode is not connected in any way to Call of Duty: War Zone. As with any rumor, readers are advised to take this with caution until we have official confirmation from Activision!

“DMZ has at least 4 maps in development. The Warzone 2 map is completely separate and is not connected in any way to the DMZ. All of these maps vary greatly in design; some are for the open world, others are more focused and dense,” TheGhostofHope writes.

Current speculation is that this year’s game will be called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. As with all the details surrounding the game, this has yet to be confirmed, but there have been a number of major leaks surrounding the past year. Call of Duty: Vanguard, so it’s not hard to imagine that would be the case for this year’s match as well. For now, Call of Duty fans will have to wait and see!

We hope Activision doesn’t have to wait any longer before we reveal official details about the next Call of Duty game! Rumors have indicated that the company will move away from the annual release model of the Call of Duty series after the release of this game. Those rumors started to spread after Microsoft announced its intention to buy the company earlier this year. If the purchase clears any potential hurdles, Activision Blizzard will become part of Microsoft sometime in 2023. This news has proven worrying for PlayStation fans, but the company has already confirmed that the series will remain on PS4 and PS5, and could even come to the Nintendo Switch, also.
