WWE NXT Tag Team Champions relinquish their titles

WWE revealed in a file official job That the NXT Tag Team Champions, which happened to be MSK after they reclaimed the titles at Stand & Deliver, have given up their NXT Tag Team Championships. Furthermore, WWE says that the new champions will be crowned next Tuesday night, although they haven’t gone into any further details about the reasons behind giving up the titles or who will be competing for those titles next week. Although the matter was not commented on in the official publication, the reason has to do with the release of Nash Carter from the company and what led to his release, which has developed over the past few days.

Carter was released from the company yesterday, although WWE has yet to officially address the release. On Monday, Carter was charged with domestic abuse by his wife, Impact Wrestling’s Kimber Lee, who posted photos showing bruises on her face. Then a photo was posted that includes an imitation of Hitler, and he was finally released Thursday.

It remains to be seen what happens with Wes Lee, Carter’s longtime Tag partner, as neither Carter nor Lee is mentioned in the official press release by WWE. As for the new contenders, we can see The Creed Brothers, Legado Del Fantasma, Briggs, Jensen, and the latest additions Pretty Deadly in the mix for those. Imperium will be an easy transition, since they just had the titles, but recent reports suggest they’re heading to SmackDown sooner rather than later, so this will only be a temporary solution if this is true.

We’ll have to wait to see what WWE plans for the titles next Tuesday, and we’ll bring you more information on this situation.
