To beat the game, the player starts with Ash of War Ground Slam, in which the character hits his body on the ground and hits the enemies with their butts. Over the course of the game, they transform into powerful Ashes of War such as Golden Slam and Erdtree Slam, but the motivation remains the same – to use their butts. This is the only player damage mode in the entire game, and they actually managed to complete it in just over two hours.
While this whole idea may sound very funny, it is very challenging if you think about the challenges one might face while doing so. Ground Slam Ashes of War is effective at very close range, and unless the character actually lands on the enemy, they will hardly do any significant damage. Given the sheer proximity that players need to attack at, the challenge becomes overwhelmingly difficult in and of itself.
Moreover, the attack animation is quite long. From jumping to landing on the enemy, the whole process takes a very long time and in that, there is a very good chance that the enemy will hit you. Since you can’t avoid dribbling in the middle of the road, you have to wait for the right holes to be able to do any kind of damage to the enemy. However, Ash of War has very good damage even early in the game. Combined with the decent poise it has to offer, one can actually eliminate enemies very quickly if they use strategy.
