Was the WrestleMania 38 main event affected by the apparent injury to the Roman era?

WrestleMania 38The main event of Roman Reigns united the WWE and Universal Championships by defeating Brock Lesnar in a match that lasted 12 minutes and 15 seconds. That’s shorter than most matches from the two-night event, including Steve Austin’s impromptu match against Kevin Owens from the night before, and many fans believe it was cut short due to an apparent dislocated shoulder Reigns suffered mid-match. However, Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer appeared Sunday night main event This week, he appeared to refute that theory.

It’s worth noting that it’s not clear from his response whether Meltzer is questioning whether Reigns is actually suffering from a shoulder injury. He sold it during the match as if he had to put his shoulder back in place and photos of the match make it look like something was wrong with his shoulder after Lesnar trapped him in a Kimura lock.

“It’s not true,” Meltzer said. “It was that match. It was that match that was decided.” “That’s the nature of how they put Lesnar’s matches together and it’s boom boom boom, big big move and then you go to the end… It wasn’t a bad match by any means. It was a Brock Lesnar match, not unlike many others.”

Meltzer later noted in the interview that the ending was “exactly what it was supposed to be,” but has yet to confirm whether or not Reigns was legitimately hurt. Reigns has not commented on his shoulder condition since the match, nor has he indicated what he plans to do now that he simultaneously holds the WWE and Universal Championship. He appears to have a new opponent lined up at WrestleMania Backlash at Shinsuke Nakamura, but WWE is said to have not decided what will happen with the Raw World Championship photo.

“From every angle at this very moment, all the time of greatness, on screen was devoted to all over the world! You might ask ‘What was going through your mind (your mind)?'” I humbly submit that when this frame was captured, the mindset became, ‘Every dream we had when we embarked on this journey together has come true. Now, the really exciting part… New dreams, new endeavors, new achievements for those visions.” We just saw that we get started. And our ambitions can’t be contained!” Paul Heyman wrote while commenting on a photo of himself looking at Reigns holding both world championships in the End WrestleMania 38.
