Joseph Gordon-Levitt Reunites Joins Natasha Leon Peacock’s Series

Joseph Gordon-Levitt has joined the Peacock series “Poker Face,” the mystery drama starring Natasha Lyonne and created by Rian Johnson.

The series’ plot details are largely kept secret, though sources say the show will follow a procedural format and see Leon’s character work on solving various murders in each episode. Details about the character that Gordon-Levitt will play, including how many episodes he will appear in, are also under wraps.

“Poker Face” received a 10-episode order at Peacock in March of 2021. Gordon-Levitt is the first confirmed cast member of the series alongside Leon. It also marks the reunion of Gordon-Levitt and Johnson, who worked together on Johnson’s film debut “Brick.” The neo-noir film debuted in 2005 at the Sundance Film Festival with Gordon-Levitt in the lead role.

“Poker Face” is Gordon-Levitt’s latest television role, currently starring in the first season of the Showtime anthology series “Super Pumped,” playing former Uber CEO Travis Kalanick. While the famous actor is primarily known for his film roles, one of his early notable performances was in the sitcom “3rd Rock From the Sun” on NBC.

Among his notable roles in films are well-accepted roles in such projects as “The Trial of the Chicago 7”, “Snowden”, “The Walk”, “Looper” and “The Dark Knight Rises”. He also has a wealth of experience behind the camera, having written and directed himself in films like “Don John” and the Apple series “Mr. Corman.” Next, he will provide his voice to Jiminy Cricket in the live/CGI musical hybrid film version of “Pinocchio” directed by Robert Zemeckis. .

Johnson created “Poker Face” and executive producer via T-Street Productions. Lyon executive produces Animal Pictures with Maya Rudolph and Daniel Renfrew Burns co-executive producer. Nora and Lila Zuckerman serve as executive producers and co-producers on the show. Ram Bergman and Nina Rodrigue of T-Street are also executive productions. MRC TV will be produced. MRC is a minority investor in T-Street, with a first look deal across both film and television.
