Battlefield 2042 developer explains why the controversial feature is here to stay

There is a lot about Battlefield 2042 who – which battlefield Fans don’t like it on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. Near the top of this list are specialists, which undoubtedly some players like, but it seems that the vast majority of players don’t like specialists. However, they are in the game and will not come. Game designer at DICE, Frederick Drapertassured that specialists will not be excluded from the game, however, changes will be made to them throughout the year.

“The specialists will not be removed but will be reworked,” confirmed the developer, who joked that a lot of changes are coming this year, but that their implementation simply takes some time. Drapert did not say what changes are being made to the specialists, but they emphasized that reworking the specialists required a lot of work, which likely explains why they were not removed. More specifically, Drabert said the following in response to someone telling the developer that specialists should be placed in classes, and in the process, hinting at this change is to introduce simple markup:

“It’s not that easy,” the developer said. “I’ve seen community suggestions (note to everyone who put in the effort) and there’s more design work needed.” “Professionals touch on a lot of parts in the game that need to be taken into account during the redesign. So it’s more than just taking it and coding it.”

While it’s unclear when some of the changes Drabert is teasing will come, we do know that a massive update will drop next week. However, it doesn’t look like this will be the update to currently save the game in free fall, or at least fans don’t seem to think it will be.
