IDW announces new original initiative featuring Scott Snyder, J. Willow Wilson, John Ridley and Moore

IDW Publishing is launching a new collection of original comics and graphic novels from some of the biggest names in the industry, including Scott Snyder, John Ridley and G. Willow Wilson. The New York Times Bestselling authors, fan-favorite artists and even newcomers will bring their talents to the IDW Originals initiative, as the publisher looks to release new original projects on a monthly basis. The first will be in July Dark spaces: wildfire Writer Scott Snyder and artist Hayden Sherman. Projects will range from genres such as action, crime, supernatural horror, sci-fi, epic fantasy, and more.

“A year ago, we set ourselves up with a mission: to make IDW a destination for major talent and rising stars,” said Mark Doyle, Managing Editor of The Originals. “This is an unprecedented moment in IDW history, and there has been a tremendous team effort from our creative and editorial teams and everyone in the company to develop an incredible roster of original stories – and we have fun doing it!”

Here are the teams and creative descriptions of the first nine titles under the IDW Originals banner. There are projects in 2023 and beyond in the works too, including a series from Academy Award-winning director, screenwriter, and novelist John Ridley (upcoming on Netflix).
