In 2013, Sandra announced that she was leaving Grey’s Anatomyy the following year. After working in medical dramas for nearly a decade, the actress felt it was time for her and Christina to try something new.
“Creatively, I really feel like I did my best, and I feel ready to let her go,” Sandra said The Hollywood Reporter in 2013. “It’s so interesting to be playing a character for so long and really feeling like she wants to let go of it too.
