The New Orleans Pelicans won the eighth seed in the tournament and had a first-round match against the Phoenix Suns. Here’s how you can watch the game 1.
There will be 16 teams vying to win 16 games with the goal of lifting the Larry O’Brien Cup. For the Phoenix Suns, who failed to hit the target last year, they hope to make it a reality. But, they will have to face the New Orleans Pelicans in the opening round first.
The Suns were the top team in the league this year, finishing their season 64-18. They won on aggregate six times more than the second-placed Memphis Grizzlies (56-26) and the first-placed Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference (53-29). With Devin Booker, Chris Paul and Dender Eaton on the list, they are the nominees to break out of the West for the second year in a row.
However, they would have to deal with the Pelican team that had to fight for the annex berth. With his ninth best record in the conference, the New Orleans defeated the San Antonio Spurs in a No. 9–10 match to have the opportunity to play for the eighth seed. On Friday, April 15, the Pelicans defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 105-101 to clinch the playoff berth.
Can the sun advance? Or will the Pelican trained by Willie Green be able to overcome all the turmoil?
