at interview with colliderLloyd Hughes has revealed that he has already auditioned for two roles in the first season of Sanditon. But his attempts failed until the next time.

“I thought it was a really exciting premise, great idea, and huge scope,” the actor said.

“I was really excited about all the different characters and the world. And then, unfortunately, I didn’t get any of those parts, so like any bitter actor, I didn’t watch the first series though.”

“And then, when series 2 came out, I suddenly heard from the agent that they were looking for these new characters. It came at a time when I thought I was going to do something else. It all fell pretty big overnight. It was very exciting at the time.” .

While the original audition for season two was by Colonel Lennox, the show’s makers thought he was more suited to the role of Alexander Colborne.

“I was thrilled to get the part of Colborne. Suddenly, Sandyton became huge A fan again, after I bitterly kicked him out of my mind, and was so excited to play such an exciting role.”

“I’m a huge Jane Austen fan, with all the different formats that have been produced over the years. It’s definitely been one of my ambitions to play the Jane Austen character. Colborn, to me, has everything great about the great Jane Austen character.”
