Get a first look at Jacob Tremblay’s ‘Dad’s Dragon’

Netflix has revealed a raw image (below) from the upcoming animated movie “My Father’s Dragon,” featuring Jacob Tremblay, Gaten Matarazzo and a host of names with bold faces.

Based on the book of the same name by Ruth Stills Janet, “Dad’s Dragon” tells the story of Elmer, a young boy who struggles to fit in after moving to town with his mother. One day, he escapes to try to find Wild Island, the home of a baby dragon waiting to be rescued. Elmer must navigate between ferocious beasts and a mysterious island as he embarks on the friendship of a lifetime.

Tremblay will play Elmer while Matarazzo voices the dragon.

Joining Tremblay and Matarazzo in the film is a cast of stars including Golshifteh Farahani, Dianne Wiest, Rita Moreno, Chris O’Dowd, Judy Greer, Alan Cumming, Yara Shahidi, Jackie Earle Haley, Mary Kay Place, Leighton Meester and Spence Moore II , Adam Brody, Charlene Yee, Maggie Lincoln, Jack Smith with Whoopi Goldberg and Ian McShane.

“Dad’s Dragon” is produced by Mockingbird Pictures and Cartoon Saloon. Nora Tomei (“The Provider”) will be directing from a screenplay by Academy Award-nominated Meg Levov (“Inside Out”). LeFauve co-wrote the screen story with John Morgan.

Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn from Mockingbird Pictures and Paul Young from Cartoon Saloon will produce while LeFauve and Morgan will produce alongside Tomm Moore, Gerry Shirren and Parallel Films from Alan Moloney and Ruth Coady.
