Carrie Steiner is on death row at San Quentin State Prison, although he has been there since December 2002.

Tragedy was haunting the Stner family. Carl Steiner’s brother Stephen escaped his captors after seven years and returned home in 1980 but tragically died in a motorcycle accident in 1989.

In 1990, Carrie’s uncle Jesse Steiner was shot and killed in the house they were living in. By 1997, Carrie Steiner was a maintenance worker at Cedar Lodge in El Portal, California.

Who killed Carrie Stenner?

Carrie Steiner was laid off from his job in February 1999. A month later, Carol Sund, her daughter Julie, and Julie’s friend Silvina Belloso were reported to have disappeared from Cedar Lodge.

The bodies of Sunde and Belloso were discovered In Carol’s car, while Julie’s body was found in a tank after an anonymous tip.

In July 1999, Karl Steiner killed his fourth victim, Joey Armstrong, who was found beheaded near the cottage she was staying in in Yosemite.

When she found out that Stner was a murderer who planned to kill them and her sister as well, she told the newspaper, “It’s very upsetting. I see two young girls who are so innocent, so pure, and so loving toward this man (but who) wanted to do some terrible things to us.”
