WWE legend John Cena has been open about wanting to return to the squared circle at some point. The wrestler-turned-actor is starting out in Hollywood right now, but a fresh back-and-forth exchange with the rising WWE superstar has fans speculating about a possible return to the ring at SummerSlam.
The exchange in question happened with Austin Theory, who recently had a match with breakout star Pat McAfee at WrestleMania. Vince McMahon was in his corner during the match and there was quite a stir on the street that the WWE owner really is 24 years old. theory in the beginning Tweet a video About himself he tells a little kid in a Cena shirt that he’s the best US Champion Cena has ever been. The hoaxed happy birthday wish caught the attention of fans and Cena himself who Reply on Twitter With a hybrid compliment and a kind of threat about unrealized potential. You can read his quote here…
Of course fans love this and Already fantasy booked the match Between the two at SummerSlam. someone Even make a poster. I’ll be the first to admit that we, as wrestling fans, can sometimes get along in anticipating these things, but I actually think that’s not the most unusual theory In the world. Let’s break it down.
First, word of McMahon has leaked over the past few days He allegedly sees Theory as a young John Cena. That’s a hell of a compliment, but sometimes WWE also uses these alleged behind-the-scenes leaks to tease something to come. Second, Cena was so open about getting back in the ring that he was physically unable to put in a good show. He really loves wrestling and has been back a few times since he left for Hollywood to compete in matches. Third, this back-and-forth exchange seems to be generating some heat between the two. So yeah, until we hear otherwise, I think wrestling fans should speculate away.
However, there are still plenty of reasons to believe that this will not happen. In case you haven’t noticed, Cena’s Hollywood career is going well at the moment. I’m not sure he got the same amount of positive hype as he does now that he loves the whole world peace maker So go crazy on its introduction. Plus, while Theory (recently dropped Austin) should be a star in the future, he’s not exactly Brock Lesnar right now. If Cena was going back for another match, Theory probably wouldn’t have been the first person I would have jumped into.
We just have to wait and see where this goes. If nothing else, though, I think this shows everyone would like to see John Cena again, and the future looks incredibly bright for Austin’s theory, who is a huge heel and has many physical tools inside the ring. If all goes well, he should be wrestling in huge matches in premium live events over the next two decades, whether it be with Cena or not.
