Bad Bunny is getting its own Marvel movie, and it already has a release date

While Sony’s Spider-Man Universe hasn’t made its own version of Marvel’s Web-Slinger, it certainly doesn’t lack characters to highlight it. We’ve already met Venom and Morbius, Kraven the Hunter will come in early 2023 and Madame Web will appear on the scene later that same year. Now word is coming that rapper Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, aka Bad Bunny, will be starring in his own Marvel movie set within SSSU that will be released in early 2024.

The reveal comes live at CinemaCon, where Sony Motion Pictures Group president Sanford Panitch has announced that Bad Bunny will play El Muerto, who was introduced to the Marvel Comics Universe in 2006. The mirto The movie will be released in theaters January 12, 2024, and assuming Sony’s Spider-Man Universe doesn’t make any films between it and Madame Web, that would make El Muerto the sixth entry in the franchise. This will also be the first Latina character to lead a Marvel movie, while Jaime Reyes, aka Blue Beetle, will have that honor for a DC movie in the summer of 2023.
