Two Bantamweights meet in the main event on Saturday. There are big bets on the line between Rob Font and Marlon Vera looking to establish themselves as title contenders.
Saturday 30th April UFC Vegas 53 will be played live from UFC APEX. The main event gives us a top 10 bantamweight bout as the No. 5 ranked Rob Font goes up against No. 8 ranked Marlon Vera.
The streak holds an MMA record of 19-5. He was on a winning streak before losing to Jose Aldo in his last match. Font has stunning victories over the likes of Cody Garbrandt, Marlon Moraes and Sergio Pettis.
Vera holds an 18-7-1 MMA record as he finished 15 of his fights by the end. Being in the UFC since 2014, Vera has impressive victories over Sean O’Malley, Frankie Edgar and Brian Kelleher.
The bantam weight division is a tough division to stay on top. A fight between these two ranked weights will give us a legitimate competitor while the other will halt their championship aspirations.
If all goes well, there will be 12 fights this Saturday. Six fights will be in the lead that kicks off at 3:30 p.m. PT. The match presented by prelims is topped by a flyweight match between Daniel Lacera and Francisco Figueiredo. The main card will begin at 6 PM PT with a match between Krzysztof Gotko and Gerald Merskart.
