Today, anime fans gather together to support one of them. Billy Camitz, a talented darling in the Double Society, has been letting fans know about his health after some previous issues. In a new video, the voice actor confirms that he has been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer and is taking a break from work to focus on his health.
In the video, Kamitz explains that he started to feel uncomfortable about ten weeks ago. After he developed pain in his shoulder and difficulty eating, the doctors saw the actor. Diagnostic tests led to Kamitz being diagnosed with cancer, and chemotherapy and radiotherapy had already begun for treatment. At the time of his update, Kamitz said he has been out of the hospital for two weeks, and that he is moving home to be close to family as treatment progresses.
“I’m still really positive,” the actor shared his update with fans. “That’s the main reason I’m making this video. I have so much support, the positivity that surrounds me, and so many people who give me strength. I know I’m going to fight this and I’ll come out the other side.”
Meanwhile, Kamitz says he’s holding back from voice acting because he prioritizes his health. Other actors will take over his roles and they will be announced at a later time. For those who may not know Kamitz by name, you probably know his voice from the dubbing of the anime. His biggest roles include Josuke from JoJo’s Bizarre AdventureNaofumi from Shield Hero RiseRoy from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaibaand Galo from promir.
