Pokemon Journeys preview prepares Lucario vs.Greninja

The Pokemon Journeys are preparing to bring Ash Ketchum’s Greninja back into the anime after several years, and now they’re ramping up the battle between them and Lucario with some new preview images for the next episode of the series! The latest anime celebrates the past with Ash and Goh exploring every area of the franchise introduced so far, and this has brought back a lot of familiar faces from the past. This has even included Ash’s previous Pokemon teams in previous episodes, but one fan favorite is yet to come back.

After teasing for the first time during the latest sequence of the anime’s opening theme, Pokemon Journeys Greninja will finally bring back Ash from the anime in the next episode. As Ash and Lucario prepare for their next major battle in the Coronation World Series, they’ll head to the Kalos region to get some help from Greninja on how to better harness their aura’s powers. But Lucario being Lucario, a big battle between the two will erupt. Check out some new images from the upcoming episode below as they were shared PokemonOfficial Twitter account:

It looks like the fight might not go as Lucario plans, though, as Episode 108 of the Pokemon Journeys: Series is titled “Lucario and Greninja! The Wave Guidance of Destiny!” The episode was described as, “In order to wake up before entering the Master Class Top 8, Ash and Lucario decide to go see Greninja Ash once in the Kalos area. Lucario challenges Greninja to a fight, but ends up being no match at all. However, Looks like Greeninga wants to tell Lucario something? Now, Lucario and Greninja’s wave routing are overlapping!” But that’s just to start the teamwork for the rest of the episode.

Unfortunately, judging by the look of the summary and teaser material, this will be the only time we’ll see Ash’s Greninja return to the series. But hopefully, this comeback leads to the fan-favorite transformation of Pokemon before it’s all over because that’s one of the main reasons fans hope to see it again someday. But what do you think?
