Chiefs LB Willie Gay enjoys funny response to Desmond Ridder’s Falcons Super Bowl promise

Kansas City Chiefs’ Willie Gay laughs at the claim of new Atlanta Falcons quarterback, Desmond Ryder, in which he predicted a Super Bowl victory.

The Kansas City Chiefs have dominated West Asia since 2016, and Mahomes has led the team to four consecutive AFC Championship games since 2018.

Of the four seasons in which the Chiefs became one of the top two AFC teams, the Chiefs advanced to two Super Bowls and won one of them in the 2019 season.

If this is a challenge for a persistently dominant team like The Chiefs to win the Super Bowl, then Atlanta Falcons quarterback Desmond Ridder needs a reality check on his Super Bowl claim — and Chiefs player Willie Gay Jr. More than happy to give him that.

Head quarterback Willie Jay calls out Desmond Ryder for a Super Bowl promise

There’s nothing wrong with confident talk, as Ryder was trying to show Atlanta the kind of player he drafted with a pick of No. 74 in the third round. To say that the franchise would get the Super Bowl from him shows that he is a qualified and talented midfielder who is able to lead a team all the way to victory in the biggest game of all time.

Of course, Jay Jr’s point is also correct – no matter the determination, winning the Super Bowl isn’t easy.

If Ridder wins the Super Bowl, it will be a franchise first. The Falcons, who have been around since 1966, have appeared in only two Super Bowls: one in 1998, and one in 2016. Their 34-19 loss to the Denver Broncos in 1998 was a big loss, but nothing beats what the Falcons delivered They did when they blew up a 28-3 lead in the third quarter against the New England Patriots. Living this loss in overtime from 34 to 28 in disgrace, Ryder is probably the one to change the narrative around the blown threads of Atlanta.

A letter of optimism could do well for a streak that has suffered from heartache over the past few years, especially with the losses of Julio Jones and Matt Ryan. Ridder may be the one to deliver, but the promise of the Super Bowl right out the gate may be a bit premature.
