HBO Max Promotes Batman vs Superman As They Watch The Mother’s Day Song ‘All Martha’s Out’

We’re just over a week away from Mother’s Day, and while there’s no shortage of ideas and suggestions for how to celebrate Mom on her big day, HBO Max has a one-of-a-kind one. The broadcast platform promotes watching Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice For Mother’s Day this year – specifically for “All Martha’s Out”. On Twitter, a DC fan shared a screenshot they took from the HBO Max app on their phones showing the promo reminding fans that “moms are our real-life superheroes” and promoting the Zack Snyder movie as “this one for all the Marthas out there this Mother’s Day.” You can check it out for yourself below.

While the devotion to “All the Marthas Are There” makes for some fun in one of the film’s most ironic moments, it’s actually quite clever and reminds you that it’s Batman vs SupermanThe “Martha” scene is a bit strange, it also talks about the relationship between Batman and Superman in the movie – and more broadly between people in general as people’s connection to their mothers or maternal characters is a universal experience. Snyder himself has previously spoken of Martha’s relationship in the film with the humanization of Superman, which in turn changes Batman’s perspective on him.

“It’s funny, because, [screenwriter] Chris Terrio and I, we got to this point in the movie, in our discussions…we knew how to get them to fight, right? But how do you get them to stop fighting? Snyder said back in 2019. this is difficult. And we were kind of dehumanizing and Batman realizes that Superman has humanity, he’s not just a creature, he’s a man – he’s alien, but he’s human, in many ways, he’s more human than him, right? He’s kind of embraced all the good parts of the human race, and so Batman is kind of able to see, in many ways, something that isn’t. And I think that’s how we started talking about it.”

Snyder also talked about how Martha’s moment is so central to the film, going so far in an interview with I MINUTEMEN to discuss how the moment holds the entire movie together.

“I’m obviously a fan of it, and very interested in how ‘Martha’, that concept is so central to the movie. I mean, it’s 100% the backbone that holds the entire movie together. I think it’s indicative of the way Batman v Superman was received that the central tenant was kind of a belittle him and ridicule him,” he began. “Personally, I think it’s such a beautiful and incredibly symmetrical idea that she totally finishes it off as a concept. It’s all 100% with the intent and intent to be all the images you see, as much as they are their inspiration and things like that.”

Snyder continued, “I’m sure there are a lot of cinematic references we have, in addition to the classics, and Citizen Kane is sure to be among the things we’ll look at as iconic standards that people can relate to as a way to help with a secondary story. That means the images are right here. , but the images it evokes go deeper. It’s like every image you see – and we’ve carefully sought – that every image you can dive into and find, whether it’s cinematic reference or whether it’s mythical or historical, we really try to support the films in that way as much as possible.”
