Mets combined no-hitter: the best memes and tweets

For the first time in team history, the New York Mets have a common player as the staff shut down the Philadelphia Phillies.

The New York Mets are off to a really strong start this season, and they are able to add another great win to their already solid resume. The Mets managed to achieve a 3-0 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies.

While closing wins are always solid, this was especially great for the Mets as they ended up throwing a no-hitter against the Phillies.

For the first time in franchise history, the Mets had a combined no-hitter.

The Mets turned to five different pitchers to make this possible and they all happened to do their job.

Taylor Miguel started at the mound and was eventually replaced by Drew Smith. Smith was then in turn replaced by Julie Rodriguez, who turned the match over to Seth Lugo. Lugo then handed things over to Edwin Diaz.

And they all managed to prevent Velez from getting a hit. Understandably, Mets fans are delighted.

This is an absolutely amazing achievement for the Mets and their fans should be amazed at this.

And of course, people will remember this for a long time. What an amazing achievement for the Mets.

New York Mets No Hitters

The Mets haven’t had many hitters throughout their history. While no hitter is inherently rare for anyone to actually drop, the last bat hit came a little over a decade ago when Johan Santana threw one in 2012.

Johan Santana no hitter

On Friday, June 1, 2012, Santana managed to achieve magic for the Mets when he faced the St. Louis Cardinals. The 33-year-old Santana managed to throw nine runs against the Cardinal, hitting eight of the 32 hits he faced. He walked by five hits, but that didn’t matter because he didn’t concede one hit and the Mets went on to win 8-0.
