In 1980, Kandi Montgomery (Bill), a housewife in a Texas suburb, did everything right. She has a good husband (Timothy Simmons), two children, and a beautiful home. She even has a secret lover on the side – who happens to be the husband of her boyfriend Betty Gore (Linsky), Alan (Pablo Schreiber).

candy review
Currently, Candy has a rating of 45 percent rotten tomatoes. Critics’ opinions are mixed to negative.
The Hollywood Reporter Angie Han He writes, “That’s it?” Incredibly near the end of the series, Betty asks, upset about the futility of it all. Perhaps she was speaking for me, too.”
Kristen Baldwin from Entertainment Weekly He notes, “All shows are strong, but ‘Quiet Desperation’ is a tough mood to sustain over five episodes—and an eerie drowsiness in a drama about a sensationalist scandal.”
Variety Caroline Framke He says, “30 seconds after I stopped watching the final episode, I already forgot I was watching the show at all.”
Steve Green from IndieWire More positively, writing, “Biel’s Candy is a wonderful base character driven not only by jealousy, ego, entitlement, or charity, but a thorny combination of all of the above.”
