Next James Bond: Tom Hardy gains second wind as Reggie Jean Page closes | movies | entertainment

After Daniel Craig’s stunning performance in his latest James Bond movie, No Time To Die, fans have been eager to see who will take charge of the star. With a restart of the 007 franchise around the corner, it’s likely that a new young actor will be officially announced to take up the role sometime this year.

And things are starting to look pretty good for Tom Hardy, whose popularity has increased in recent days.

Hardy has built an incredible career, with plenty of success emerging in recent years with appearances in films including Venom, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Dunkirk and Peaky Blinders.

However, his lead in Bond odds has waned recently as a young star took the helm at Hardy. But things are looking up for the 44-year-old icon.

Hardy’s odds have just been lowered to 6/1 of the Ladbrokes – down from 8/1 just a week ago.

Hardy’s new odds put him third in Bond’s odds – a solid position, which you’ll no doubt agree with. But he’s not out of the woods yet.

Right in front of him, in second place, is the Superman star we all know and love: Henry Cavill. The actor has become a fan favorite lately, especially with his participation in the Netflix series The Witcher.

He currently stands just 4/1 ahead of Hardy. But he is still in the leagues behind the favorites in Bond odds.

Page recently addressed Bond rumors on her television appearance. “I think there might be an element of cultural translation to be done here,” he said on The Tonight Show. “If you’re British, and you do something of any kind that is well respected by people, then people start saying the ‘B-word’.” It’s like a merit badge. You get a B word Merit Badge. He added, “I am very happy to receive the badge. I am happy to be in the company of the wonderful people who carry the badge. But it’s a badge.”

However, Hardy and Paige aren’t the only British actors looking for the role of a lifetime in the follow-up to No Time To Die.

Just behind Hardy in third place is Aidan Turner, best known for playing Kelly in The Hobbit trilogy of The Lord of the Rings. Other than that, fans of the BBC drama Poldark will know him.

The Irish heartthrob has an incredible 7/1 when he becomes the next Bond. But another BBC hero is standing right behind him.

Tommy Shelby himself, Cillian Murphy, is hot in the wake of Turner. The Irish actor has just wrapped up his last adventure as the leader of the Shelby family, so he may be about to take on the role of 007.

If he did, would he be able to keep up with the likes of former co-stars, Craig and Pierce Brosnan?

The entire James Bond franchise is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.
