WWE fans are divided after Ronda Rousey defeated Charlotte for the title at WrestleMania Backlash

WWE fans reacted to Ronda Rousey defeating Charlotte Flair in an “I Quit” match to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania Backlash.

WWE’s premium live event, WrestleMania Backlash, featured one title match, and it was for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey faced off in a rematch at WrestleMania, but this time, it was in an “I Quit” match. Of course, the only way to win is to force your opponent to say “I quit”.

At the event on Sunday, May 8, Rousey defeated Flair to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship for the first time in her career. Rossi took the win after trapping Flair’s arm in a steel chair and locking his arm, forcing the now-former champ to say “I quit.”

Twitter users watching WrestleMania Backlash on Rousey ended Flair’s 198-day reign, reacting.

Flair and Rousey competed at WrestleMania 38 Night 1 via the former UFC star who won the Women’s Royal Rumble match in January. Rossi appears to have won the match, but the referee is knocked out after a spear by Flair. While Rousey was trying to revive the referee, Flair hit Rousey with a big boot for the win.

A rematch is set for WrestleMania Backlash, but this time with an “I Quit” match clause. There were several points, such as Rousey placing a rod on Flair by hanging over the top rope and placing Flair on an 8-leg lock. But in the end, it was Rousey who triumphed with the arm rod through a steel chair.

After the match, Kayla Braxton revealed that Flair “suffered a fracture of the radius” as a result of Rousey’s last arm bar.

For the first time since 2019, Ronda Rousey is the WWE Women’s Champion.
