Once he gets special Colin Burroughs gifts

The Once Upon A Time Creative Agency (OUAT) has acquired movie content company The Special Treats Production Company for an undisclosed amount.

Colin Burroughs founded Special Treats over 30 years ago and is an MD. Special Treats has produced a range of documentaries, television films, and online press kits for the film, television and music industries. She has several joint clients with OUAT including Walt Disney Pictures, Warner Bros., Universal, and Netflix. Twenty years of experience in the company, Lisa Vass, will become the new Managing Director.

OUAT is headquartered in London with offices in Nottingham, New York and Los Angeles. The addition of Special Treats is in line with its strategy to provide specialized audiovisual and advertising services in the entertainment, music, gaming and hospitality sectors and with its focus on expanding its capabilities in the audiovisual arena. OUAT’s previous acquisitions include New York-based IdeaWork Studio Inc and health and beauty specialist Storm DFX.

Burroughs will continue as an advisor. They have an American operation that has a lot of potential to develop. Clients are asking them to develop things in the Middle East and Asia Pacific, which I think I can help them with. “So we’re excited to get this stuff off the ground,” Burroughs said.

Burroughs is now committed to Cannes, for the 38th time there, to complete Cannes Uncut, the documentary about the festival he is making alongside trade film journalist Chris Pickard, critic and former Edinburgh Film Festival president Mark Adams, and Richard Blanchard, who He has been accredited as the Official Photographer for the US and UK Film Industries in Cannes for over twenty years.

The plan was to complete in time to celebrate the festival’s 75th anniversary this year, but team and editor Roger Penny felt footage shot last year during the festival lacked a spark due to face masks and social distancing.

“We needed more tension, more urgency, more masculinity, more of the real Cannes experience…we needed to pump more craziness into her,” Burroughs said. The production has partnered with Getty Images and is including a photographer with the photography agency to collect additional stills and video images, while the core documentary team conducts more interviews.
