Dr. Strange 2 writer breaks silence on Charlize Theron’s debut in MCU

Doctor Strange in a multiverse of madness Dominate the cultural conversation, as the blockbuster movie was filled with elements adding to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In addition to the surprising number of inscriptions among the Illuminati, as well as various pieces of narrative canon, the film marks the first live appearance of Clea (Charlize Theron), a creative ally and love interest of Stephen Strange/Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch). Fans have been excited to see Clea enter the MCU for a while, and while talking to ComicBook.com about his work on the movie, The multiverse of madness Screenwriter Michael Waldron spoke about her introduction.

“Charlize, she’s a badass,” Waldron explained in our interview, which you can watch in the video above. It’s cool. It’s awesome. I was so excited. It’s a dream to pick that character. I felt like we needed to close the book on Dr. Strange and Kristen Palmer’s relationship, and I feel like she’s introducing him as a character, when he tells him not to be afraid to love someone. [or] Than to allow himself to be loved. This is what opens the door for him to finally meet his great love of comics. Thus, they are equal in every part of it. And I just think they have an amazing dynamic in the comics, and so I’m excited to see how that plays out in the future. “

Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, it debuted entirely in 1964 strange tales #126, and is established as the Princess of the Dark Dimension and the niece of Dormamo. After crossing paths with Stephen several times, the pair become allies, and Clea becomes his disciple when he takes on the mantle of the Supreme Wizard. In the end, Clea takes her rightful place as ruler of the dark dimension, and marries Stephen in a series of pagan ceremonies, before their romance is severed. Recently, Clea became the new supreme wizard after Stephen’s death.
