Who is Rand Casemiro in Better Call Saul Season 6?

Who is Rand Casemiro in the best service of Saul?

Rand Casemiro is a retired judge from Santa Fe chosen to mediate a class action case at Sandpiper Crossing.

Casimiro is a new character in Better Call Saul and Kim only learned of his involvement in the Sandpiper case in Episode 5 during her meeting with former co-worker Schweikart & Cokely Viola Goto and later found a picture of him in the Bar Journal.

In Episode 6, we see Jimmy prepare a Casemiro-like appearance in some criminal stage picture, and he agonizes over what style his mustache should be.

However, in the final moments of the episode, Jimmy bumps into the real Casemiro at a wine store and notices that their plan faces minor hiccups.

Casemiro recently broke his arm while still strapped to a cast, rendering their phasors completely useless.

Jimmy suggests to Kim that they put their plan on ice and try again again, but Kim—who’s supposed to be on her way to Santa Fe for an important career opportunity—gets none of it and flips her car back to Albuquerque.

What is Kim and Jimmy’s plan?

As discussed by Kim and Jimmy in the season five finale, they hope to speed up the ongoing Sandpiper Crossing affair along which will see Jimmy earn a hefty finder fee in the region of $2 million.

During season six, the pair were slowly laying the groundwork for their plot, hoping that Howard Hamlin – who is overseeing the case – had lost his credibility so that a settlement could be reached quickly.

This resulted in Jimmy planting fake drugs in Howard’s locker at the golf club and “borrowing” Howard’s car to perform a fake assault with a prostitute in front of respected attorney Cliff Mayne.

The next stage in their plan appeared to be to discredit the judge overseeing the case, Rand Casemiro.

However, Casimiro’s broken arm threatens to undo all their work up to this point and Episode 7 would be great to watch how Kim and Jimmy get their conspiratorial scheme back on track.
