Does the She-Hulk trailer include a wrecking crew?

The first trailer for Disney + She-Hulk: Attorney at Law It arrived Tuesday to give fans their best look yet in the upcoming Marvel Studios series and as with most trailers for projects in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there are plenty of fans to unpack and take advantage of. The trailer took a look at a man in a frog suit that would likely be a Frog-Man (or possibly a Leap-Frog), a fresh look at Abomination’s return, and of course the return of Bruce Banner. But those aren’t the only things in the trailer that fans will be able to enjoy and talk about while waiting for the series to debut this summer. There’s also a moment when many will wonder if the trailer also included a first look at the Wrecking Crew.

In about seven seconds of its newly released She-Hulk: Attorney at Law We get a glimpse of a group of men about to carry out a heist not armed with stylish tactical gear or just guns. We see one with a crossbow and, perhaps most notably, one with a claw. It looks like this could be the Wrecking Crew, at least the MCU version of it.

In the comics, the Wrecking Crew is a team of four villains – Bulldozer, Piledriver, Thunderball and Wrecker – who first appeared in 1974. defenders #17. The group was formed when Dr. Elliot Franklin in prison approaches Dirk Garthwaite/Wrecker, a criminal who used crowbar to demolish crime scenes and was mistaken for Loki and granted him powers via the enchanted lever by Karnilla the Norn Queen. The gamma bomb previously designed by Franklin. Garthwaite retrieves the crowbar, Franklin along with fellow inmates Henry Camp and Brian Calusky holding a gun together, he’s struck by lightning and the rest of the Wrecking Crew is set up. They escape from prison, go in search of that bomb, and are defeated by the defenders and Luke Cage. Over the years, the group has had a fairly consistent cycle of breaking out of prison and getting into skirmishes with heroes and even dealing with She-Hulk in the comics before as well.

While in the comics, the group traditionally consisted of four members, there were a few other members as well. A mercenary named Demolisher had held a place on the team before—particularly when they were working on a job for Mayor Wilson Fisk—and there was also Excavator, Beldriver’s teenage son. It wouldn’t be too much of an exaggeration She-Hulk: Attorney at Law To put their own role in the team and make them a threat in the series. This glimpse into the trailer isn’t the first time the Wrecking Crew has been suggested to be one of the enemies Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk (Tatiana Maslany) faces in the series. Last summer, a report suggested that the Wrecking Crew would appear in the series, although there was no specific context for exactly how.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Maslani stars as Jennifer Walters, a New York City attorney whose life changes after she suffers an accident, which results in her receiving a blood transfusion from her cousin, Bruce Banner. As a result, Jennifer has developed her own iteration of the Hulk’s powers, which affect her life as a lawyer and her new life as a superhero. The cast will also include Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk, Jamila Jamil as Titania, Tim Roth as The Abomination, Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segura and Renee Elise Goldsberry.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law It premieres August 17th on Disney+.
