There has been a lot of conversation in the entertainment industry over the past few years regarding inclusion and acting. He tasked the audience with studios telling more diverse stories on screen, with varying degrees of success. Comedian Billy Eichner is making history with his upcoming movie two brothers, which includes a group of actors from Queer. And the new trailer for the movie is NSFW, featuring some great talent from LGBTQ+.
As seen above, the first full trailer for two brothers It’s a pretty wild game, and it showcases the comedic talent that made Billy Eichner such a name. In it we see Eichner playing an accomplished podcast host, who is struggling emotionally and sometimes professionally. And his dating experience shows in a fun, candid and definitely NSFW way. Case in point: He ways parting and dated while in a group sexual situation. This is not a typical romantic comedy.
The trailer for Billy Eichner’s character, Bobby Lieber, which tells the story of the wrong Hollywood encounter, begins. Suggesting him to make a gay romance movie that straight guys will enjoy, Eichner jokes about mixing gay sex with action star Jason Momoa, Vulcanos, and Ice Cube in a hilarious NSFW way.
From there, Bros’ protagonist explains how dating, friendships, and social life can often be very different for LGBTQ+ people. That’s when familiar faces start to appear, like SNLBowen Yang scandalGuillermo Diaz and cheerfulDot Marie Jones. But the cast also includes the likes of the famous Harvey Fierstein, comedian Benito Skinner and RuPauls Drag Race Winner Simon.
Through the trailer, we finally showed the main romance story, which was shared between Billy Eichner and Luke Macfarlane. The two seem to meet in a crowded gay bar, squabbling over the gay community’s high physical standards. Although they definitely don’t look like they meet, the cute turns off on either end.
There are some really funny jokes throughout this first Bros trailer, and many of them are very specific to the queer community. A contestant sees Billy Eichner’s character talking to a man in a hookup app, who insists on seeing a picture of the protagonist’s butt. Eichner goes to great lengths, including using a ring lamp to take impromptu photos of his booty… only to be promptly blocked by the man.
The end of the trailer also featured a flashy scene, with character Guillermo Díaz joking that two of the rom-com threads might be bottoms. He heard this two young children do a “bottom dance,” much to the horror of Billy Eichner. He laments “gay sex was more fun when people were uncomfortable with it.” And all this happens when the Queen’s song “Somebody To Love” is heard in the background.
