The Winchesters Trailer: The Return of Supernatural Star Jensen Ackles

Demonhunters unite in the new trailer for The Winchesters.

In the first look at CW’s new prequel series “Supernatural”, narrator Dean Winchester (“Supernatural” star Jensen Ackles) takes viewers back to 1972. The story of Sam (played by Jared Padalecki in the original series) and Dean’s family has long been a mystery. But now, Dean wants to finally reveal how the demon-hunting Winchesters came about.

The trailer for “Supernatural” brings viewers to the night that John Winchester, Dean and Sam’s father, met their mother, Mary Campbell. It is a classic love story. The boy returns from the war. The boy meets the girl. The girl proceeds to kill the demon in order to save the boy. The pair then decide to team up on a demon hunt in order to track down their demon hunter parents. Thus John is drawn into the world of demon hunting, and begins events that will eventually lead the family into a “supernatural” heart.

“The Winchesters” starring Meg Donnelly and Drake Rodger as Mary and John. Ackles reprise his role as Dean Winchester and is an executive producer alongside his wife and fellow alum Daneel Ackles “Supernatural”. Written by Robbie Thompson, The Winchesters is produced by Chaos Machine Productions and Warner Bros. Television and CBS Studios.

Starring Padalecki and Ackles, Supernatural debuted in September 2005 and immediately became a CW classic. Over the course of the show’s run, its viewership has dropped below a million viewers just four times, all in the final season. The show ended in 2020 after 15 seasons and 327 episodes. “The Winchesters” will mark the first return of the demon hunt and Ackles since the series’ conclusion in November 2020.
