A selection of Jif’s peanut butter products sold in the United States have been recalled due to possible salmonella contamination.
The products have been recalled by JM Smucker Co and anyone in possession is urged to dispose of them immediately.

Salmonella is a bacteria that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the elderly or frail, as well as those with weakened immune systems.
Healthy people infected with salmonella can also have symptoms, including fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.
In rare cases, salmonella infection can lead to severe illness if the organism enters the bloodstream.
