Doja Cat recently announced that they had to cancel a tour that was also going to include The Weeknd.
The singer had been hinting that she would be taking a break from music after her tour but an unfortunate event led to Doja canceling the tour entirely.
While the fans were upset, they were quick to understand the situation and sent the singer well wishes.
What happened to Doja Kat?
Doja revealed that she had a tonsil infection that got worse after drinking and vaping. To make matters worse, the singer revealed that the infection led to a “bad” growth that required surgery.
Next, Doja confirmed that she has some sad news for fans as the surgery means she won’t be able to do so. She finally confirmed it in a social media post.

Doja wrote: You wanted to hear it from me first. Unfortunately, I have to have tonsil surgery ASAP. Surgery is routine but recovery will take some time due to the swelling. That means I have to cancel this summer’s Run Festival as well as The Weeknd Tour.”
When will The Weeknd tour take place?
The Weeknd’s North American tour was scheduled to begin on July 8. The singer was scheduled to host this event last year but due to COVID, things had to change.
However, fans were excited as The Weeknd revealed that Doja Cat will be joining him at North American parties. There were 18 in total. Now that the singer won’t be able to perform, The Weeknd may or may not attend a replacement.

Does Doja Cat leave the music?
No, Doja does not quit the music. However, there was a time when the singer suggested that she would do so after facing a backlash from some of her fans who claimed the singer did not meet them affectionately.
While walking the Grammy Award red carpet, the singer noticed that she was looking forward to the tour alongside The Weeknd. At the same time, she thanked her fans for their constant support.
Although Doja did not provide a direct answer to her previous comment about her retirement from music, the singer assured her fans that she is not going anywhere.
