Earlier today, in a new interview with LimitThe director revealed that the canceled superhero movie made him change his approach to filmmaking.
“Yeah, to me it happens because it happened so many times. I got kicked out of the movie – it happened with Contact and I was really excited about it,” Miller revealed. “After that we were very keen on bringing the Justice League back around that time, and there were already pictures and publicity, and then that fizzled out. I’m not saying that spoiled it, but I think it would be best to finish the movie and show it to the masses; to let them see story or not.
After all, you’d think the director would be worried about the genre, but he seems to have a pretty big opinion of superhero movies. During a recent interview with Variety, the director revealed his thoughts on superhero movies as a whole.
“They endured and they endured anyway. The only thing you will be sure of is that they will change, and they will turn into something else. Marvel and the DC Universe are basically remnants of Greek, Scandinavian and Roman mythology. The film is directed by Waititi and stars Chris Hemsworth as the titular character, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster / Mighty Thor, Russell Crowe as Zeus, Jamie Alexander as Lady Sword, Chris Pratt as Peter Quill / Star-Lord, Sean Gunn as Craiglin, Dave Bautista as Drax Destroyer, Karen Gillan as Nebula and Christian Bale as Gore the Lord’s Butcher.
