Pete Davidson’s honest farewell to SNL included Will Smith and Chris Rock’s joke that they didn’t see the crowd coming

Pete Davidson is leaving Saturday Night Live, along with at least Kate McKinnon, Eddie Bryant and Kyle Mooney. The group’s departure will leave a giant hole that both returning and new cast members will need to try to fill, but that’s an issue Lorne Michaels and the company will have to explore this summer. Last night was all about saying goodbye to both the cast and season 47. It was all about saying goodbye the right way, and Pete Davidson, of course, did it in typical Pete Davidson style.

The comedian appeared during a weekend update and got about four minutes to tell jokes and reflect on his time at Studio 8H. As always, what he offered was a perfect balance between hilarious jokes, self-deprecating shots and a warm appreciation for opportunity.
