A new PlayStation leak appears to have revealed that a PlayStation 5 exclusive fantasy game is now in the works. For the most part, Sony has been pretty quiet about the many PS5 titles in development. Outside God of War RagnarokAnd Spider-Man from Marvel 2, and a few other titles, we don’t know what many of Sony’s first-party studios are working on right now. Thankfully, thanks to this new leak, we now have a better idea of what one of Sony’s lesser-known divisions is creating.
According to new work list From PlayStation’s London Studio, the UK-based developer is now working on a fictional title that appears to have the hallmarks of the live service. Currently, London Studio is looking to hire a new Narrative Design Director for “a brand new IP we’re very excited about.” The list of jobs involved stated that this project had been in the concept stage for some time. Now, London Studio is looking for employees to make this game a reality.
Obviously, details are still scattered about this futuristic PS5 game, but London Studio says it’s creating a project featuring side missions, collectibles, and a variety of unique characters. The reason to also believe that this will be an inherently live service game is that the job listing specifically states that it is this title that will see new content released over time. “Create an initial campaign to introduce the world and characters, then an ongoing campaign to develop the narrative and introduce new content,” said one job description.
Given that London Studio is only now building its staff to work on this PS5 game, it makes sense that we won’t see it properly exposed for a bit longer. However, it’s interesting to learn more about the types of titles that may come from PlayStation in the future.
