The Philippine social media platform and online stories company Wattpad have joined forces to adapt Jamille Fumah’s Wattpad song “Kiss Master” as a 10-episode series for cross-platform distribution.
Romantic fiction currently has 7.7 million reads on Wattpad. It comes five years after Susi’s heart was broken by the evil billionaire Archangel Wolfgang. When he appears again in her life, it is not clear that the differences between them can be bridged.
Fuma (also using JFStories) is one of the most successful Wattpad writers in the Philippines, with 1.5 million followers on the platform, more than 30 published stories, and over 336 million total reads. Foma has also published five books with Bliss Books, a joint imprint of Wattpad with Anvil Publishing in the Philippines.
The production will be realized with the participation of Black Sheep Productions, known for Filipino cinema films such as “Exes Baggage”, “Alone/Together”, “Fan Girl” and “If the Weather Is All Right”.
The show is directed by Chad Fidanes (Wattpad rom-com series “He’s Into Her”). Kaori Oinuma (“Love at First Stream” as Sussie) will be played by Joao Constancia as Arkhangel. Kyle Echarri (ABS-CBN’s song On the Wings of Love) plays a saboteur named Hugo.
Wattpad’s burgeoning fanbase will have the potential to influence the acting and other story of the project.

Wattpad and Kumu previously worked together, but did not go so far as to co-produce. “Our extended partnership with Wattpad is the next project in a series of fan-influenced adaptations,” said Angelo Mendes, Co-Founder and Head of Kumu Content.
“Filipino authors are some of the most successful and influential authors on Wattpad,” said Dexter Ong, Global Managing Director, Wattpad Webtoon Studios.
