Teven Jenkins follows a new diet and training regimen as he looks to impress the new Bears training crew.

Chicago Bears offensive lineman, Teven Jenkins, does everything in his power to impress the Bears’ new technical team and protect their quarterback.

Teven Jenkins will do whatever is necessary to help the Chicago Bears win soccer games and keep Justin Fields upright. Includes taking Pilates lessons.

“Have you ever done Pilates? That’s my gosh, oh, but it’s good for you, so I’m happy to do it,” Jenkins admitted.

There will be no complaints from Jenkins about the position he plays for Matt Eberless and the new Bears coaching staff.

“I’ll play wherever they need me. Get into the place that suits you,” Jenkins said with a smile after another day of Bears OTAs.

Jenkins is asked to “fit in” at the right tackle as he played most of his time at Oklahoma State. Matt Nagy used Bears Jenkins to leave a left tackle in two games late last season after Jason Peters was injured – a tough request for a player who was going out for surgery.

Jenkins unsurprisingly struggled when he allowed 2 rounds, 7 penalties in 6 matches and only 160 offensive shots.

The Bears 2022 offensive blueprint led by new offensive coordinator Luke Getsy Justin Fields will be much more on the move than he was in the junior season. The scheme requires offensive linemen to play more athletically.

Jenkins will be most comfortable in the right tackle but will play with less weight to fit the chart.

To plan for the new challenge, Jenkins arranged his diet along with adding the new exercise regimen. Beer and other carbohydrates such as macaroni, cheese, and rice were reduced. Protein and vegetables combined with resilience power.

Hopefully, any lingering effects from the back surgery that kept Jenkins on the sidelines early in his NFL career will soon be gone.

“I didn’t think about my back,” Jenkins said. “I trust everything that goes into it especially the Pilates part that makes your core strong. Once you have a strong core it removes any back pain you might have. I am not worried about the back at all. I try to take it all off myself mentally and physically.”

Jenkins reports that he lost 20 pounds, dropping to 325 from 345 last season. His body fat is also 24 percent lower than 33 at the end of last season.

Jenkins is on a mission to prove to the Bears new system and perhaps himself that he can be a productive player in the Bears NFL.

“For me, it’s about earning their trust and earning their belief that I still deserve to be on this team,” Jenkins said. “I work for that confidence, and that’s what I do in the end. Putting more of that confidence they have in me will make me feel more comfortable and I will start playing more comfortable.”

Comfortable, high-performance, sporty and flexible Jenkins will be music to the ears of Bears and Justin Field.
