One piece Reaching the intense final moments in the fight between Luffy and Kaido in the skies above Wano, the new chapter of the series has surprised Momonosuke Oden’s quick and final shock before everything collapses! The previous chapter of the series seemed to tease that the fight between Luffy and Kaido would actually end because they both launched what appeared to be their strongest attacks yet. All along, Momo has been given the perilous task of making sure Onigashima doesn’t crash into the Flower Capital below.
Momo was somehow tasked with using his demonic dragon fruit powers to develop the same kind of flame clouds that Kaido had been using to keep Onigashima afloat throughout the war, but with Luffy potentially dealing Kaido’s final blow, Momo needed to replace these clouds to make sure the island didn’t fall below . This finally comes with the latest chapter of the series where Momo delves into the moment of truth and saves Onigashima from collapse as the final blow is dealt Kaido.
Chapter 1049 of One piece Luffy Nail sees Kaido with one last, powerful punch, and at the moment the Emperor appears to be defeated for good. The problem with that and with Luffy firing that last punch, though, was that Luffy had put all his faith into making sure Momo was able to save Onigashima from falling. Momo was nervous about getting such a huge responsibility as he and Yamato had been struggling to help form the Flame Cloud Formation despite all his efforts to do so thus far.
But with the final blow arriving, Momo finally unlocked the Flame Cloud’s ability just in time and grabbed Onigashima just as he was about to crash into the ground. He managed to keep it afloat long enough to make sure it landed gently on the ground, so while Luffy took the final blow, Momo was the one to literally make sure Wano’s future survived. To save them from a massive amount of destruction, it has now truly come full circle as the base for the country in the future.
