The defamation case between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp entered its sixth and final week in May 2022. Both parties have testified and several people have been called as witnesses to Depp and Heard, with Dr. Don Hughes returning to testify.
Actors Heard and Depp met on the set rum notes Back in 2009. They got into a romantic relationship, and got married in 2015. A year later, they separated. Now Depp is suing Heard for £50m for an opinion piece published in The Washington Post in 2018. Heard is claiming £100m.
Who is Dr. Don Hughes?
Dr. Dawn Hughes is Amber Heard’s Clinical Psychologist. She is also a board-certified forensic psychiatrist. Dr. Hughes is the chair-elect of the Trauma Division at American Psychological Association.
Dr Hughes stated thatRated Amber Heard over six visits for about 29 hours“.
The psychiatrist appeared in court on May 26 to provide a rebuttal to Dr. Shannon Curry, which occurred the day before on May 25, 2022.

Dr. Hughes’ rebuttal has been explored
In response to Dr. Shannon Curry’s testimony that she used “Inappropriate waysDr. Don Hughes She said She does not agree. She added that she usedStandard forensic procedureIn testing it and collecting data on Heard.
Dr. Hughes said the procedure she used is “a multi-method, multi-hypothesis procedure where you look at a variety of details, different tests and external data to arrive at an opinion and you look at consistency across that data.”
The psychiatrist continued: “There are three sets of tests that we use as forensic psychologists and I think that’s where Dr. Carey seems to be confused.”
Dr. Hughes added: “We have forensic assessment tools, those are tools that are closely related to legal standards, and are done specifically in a criminal court…The next level is the forensic-related tools…The third category is clinical assessment tools.” “
Dr. Hughes says Amber Heard meets the criteria for PTSD
On May 25, Dr. Shannon Curry said during her testimony that Amber Heard did not meet the criteria for PTSD. She added that Heard continued her life as usual citing the fact that she attended events, took a bartender course and more.
Dr Hughes contested this analysis on May 26 and testified that people with PTSD “strongAnd Brave and resilient peopleEven when they have symptoms.
Dr. Hughes added that people with PTSD do not always experience complete impairment and that she has found functional impairment with Amber.

Johnny Depp is suing Amber Heard for defamation over an op-ed she published in the Washington Post in 2018. Heard resists Depp. The case is set to continue.
