before releasing Weird things In season four, creators Matt and Ross Duffer quipped that the tone of the new episodes will lean into a more terrifying tone than previous seasons. Adding more excitement to the new season was the reveal of it A Nightmare on Elm Street Star Robert Englund will appear in the new season as Victor Creel, with Englund gaining an ardent following for his portrayal of Freddy Krueger over the years. With Season 4 – Volume 1 of Weird things Streaming now, fans are learning how the enigmatic Englund character relates to the events of Hawkins, Indiana.

Victor Creel speaks the language Weird things Before actually appearing, he was said to have moved into a house in Hawkins with his family in the 1950s and was blamed for killing his family. However, when Nancy (Natalia Dyer) and Robin (Maya Hawke) get to meet Krill in episode 4 of the series, they learn that there is a disturbing history behind the number.
Creel remembers to Nancy and Robin that he witnessed his family being murdered by the otherworldly Vicna, who had witnessed the terrorizing of victims in Hawkins in previous episodes, while also noting that he was targeted by Vicna but managed to escape. And as frightening as the annoyance in his eyes frightened him, he revealed that he had blinded himself.
This conversation provided key insight into Vecna, especially since Krell’s mind was so twisted and he sang so much a song he had heard on the radio from the time his family was murdered. This means that when Vecna targeted Max, she used her favorite song to escape her clutches and find her way from the Upside Down and back to the real world.
In episode 7 of this season, the audience learns of surprising news about Vecna that reworks Creel’s memories. The series revealed that Vecna was actually the son of Henry Krill, who had powerful telekinetic abilities. Henry deliberately used his powers to kill his mother and sister, knowing that his father would be blamed, resulting in Victor’s imprisonment. Efforts to attack his family result in Henry being hospitalized and becoming the first test subject for Dr. Brenner (Matthew Modine), getting a 001 tattoo. Later, Henry goes to fight Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) at the facility, which leads to his banishment to the Upside Down, with The dark dimension of his body transformed into the terrifying figure of Vecna.
Although he only appeared in one episode, Creel is clearly a major character in Hawkins’ general history, leaving audiences wondering if we could see him return.
