The internet is divided over the realization that Swedish people don’t feed their guests

Think it’s just a case of basic hosting etiquette for feeding guests in your home? Well, it seems that feeding guests is not something that is done in Swedish culture, and Twitter has not handled the matter very well…

Every day there is a new topic of speech on Twitter. At any given time, we guarantee thousands of strangers are engaging in often heated discussions on any range of topics.

This weekend saw another discussion about the schedule. Although it is not likely that you have heard of it before.

One bemused user took to Twitter to lament a recently learned fact, and it didn’t take long for a viral splash to form.

Where did the Swedish argument come from?

The whole discussion started after a seemingly innocent post from user @SamQari.

All it took was for my Gary to do it Tweet screenshot From subreddit r/AskReddit, the rest was history.

Georgia and Tommy: Baby Steps | Final Season Trailer

The screenshot showed a user asking about the strangest thing people should do as a guest in someone’s house. The top response then was the user detailing the time they were told to wait in their Swedish friend’s room while they joined their family downstairs to eat.

Qari posted the screenshot with the caption: “I’m not here to judge but I don’t get this. How are you going to eat without inviting your friend?”

And from there a new argument was born.

To understand just how massive this tweet is, there are currently over 50,000 retweets/quote tweets and an incredible 133,000 likes.

Let’s hope Qari has muted the thread!

Swedish culture and guest feeding are two sides of the debate

Now, it must be noted that most of the users did not support the Swedes in this matter.

In fact, Twitter has been pretty much swaying against Sweden. Most users couldn’t believe this claim and it seems their entire view of Sweden has been altered as a result.

“Hi, just catching up. So, if you go to a sleepover in Sweden, are you going to starve?” asked one usVerse from London.

else Loudspeaker From the United States he added: “The highest degree of intercultural and interreligious agreement I have ever seen on this site is the whole world coming together to harass Sweden for this.”

Yet there were one or two Swedes defending their nation.

A user from Stockholm gave his counter-argument, saying, “I grew up like this… Sitting down to dinner as a family was an important part of the day, so you shouldn’t mess with the other family’s meal time.”

Our favorite Swedish dinner guest reactions

Of course, like anything online, thousands of people have expressed their opinions.

Here are some of the best reactions to Swedish culture and not feeding guests:

“I can’t believe Reddit and Twitter have changed the whole view of how people view Sweden. Over 100 years of Sweden seen as a good place to live has been ruined by a screenshot # swedishStrong take of single user!

Another hostel With: “Good job everyone. I think we managed to scare Sweden this weekend and their PR is in the mud. Let’s pick another European country next weekend and go again.”

Finally, a file was created Accurate summary From the discussion: “Sorry, I can’t hold our meeting in the morning, I found it strange to feed your guest dinner in Sweden, so obviously I had to read 500 people discussing it until 3 am.”
