The Chicago White Sox should have scouts keeping an eye on these five under-the-radar trade deadline candidates closely.
The mid-level has stuck to the 2022 Chicago White Sox like a leech. The team has talent but poor execution of it. The longer they wait to do something, the more likely they will be out of the MLS Central race and possibly even a wild card chase.
The White Sox has had some good starting shows and not more than that. Crime is a complete mess. The bulls did not live up to the billing.
Big name commercial candidates like Frankie Montas or Wilson Contreras would make sense for them to pursue them. What about those guys who fly a little further under the radar?
White Sox trade candidate Ian Happ can play a variety of roles
Ian Hap was the Josie Professor at the Chicago Cubs while playing a variety of roles for them. Often a left player this season, he’s actually the center of the field where he’s seen the most action.
The White Sox will likely use it on corner points and sometimes on the field. The Hub can give almost any player a day off or allow them to move to a DH to feel better.
Deals between White Sox and Cubs aren’t all uncommon. Midwest general managers have to do things differently than the New York Mets and New York Yankees — two geographical competitors that rarely strike deals. After all, it was Quintana’s trading of the Cubs that brought in White Sox Eloy Jimenez and Dylan Cease.
This trade may not be quite high-profile. However, the Cubs can have enough strength enough for a versatile defensive player with some strength. His additional year of control should raise the price as well. Hub is not just a rental.
