Dolph Lundgran pays tribute to Amber Heard: she’s “awesome” on the set of Aquaman 2

Dolph Lundgren has nothing but positive things to say about his experience working with Amber Heard in the upcoming sequel to “Aquaman”, officially titled “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom”. A recent Johnny Depp-Amber Heard defamation trial revealed that Heard was nearly replaced in the “Aquaman” sequel and that her role in the film had been significantly reduced, but Heard remained in good spirits on the film’s set according to Lundgren.

“She was great. I worked with her on the first ‘Aquaman’ movie, now the second. We shot last fall in London,” Lundgren recently told Redline Steel CEO Colin Wayne (via independent). “She’s great, I had a great experience with her. She is so kind, so kind to the crew, so kind to everyone, down to earth. She had her newborn baby with her in place with the nanny who was kinda nice.”

In the “Aquaman” movies, Lundgren plays King Nereus, while Heard plays his character’s daughter, Mera. Heard alleged during a libel trial last month that Warner Bros. She “didn’t want to be included” in “Aquaman 2” due to the fallout from her divorce from Depp. The actress said she was “actively scheduling the filming” of the second “Aquaman” movie until Depp’s team called her a liar regarding her abuse allegations against Depp. Heard said that “communication” about the sequel “stopped at that point” and then her role in the film became a “very shortened version.”

“I was given a script and then I was given new versions of the script that removed the scenes that had an impact on it, that depicted my character and another character, without giving any spoilers, two characters fighting with each other, basically taking a handful out of my role,” Heard said. “They only removed a handful.”

Reports surfaced earlier this year that Heard only appears in about 10 minutes of the “Aquaman” sequel. Lundgren’s support for specific Heard behavior comes as Online petition Heard removed from “Aquaman 2” nearly 4.5 million signatures. Heard previously spoke out against the petition in 2020 before filming the sequel.

Paid rumors and paid campaigns on social media do not dictate [casting decisions] Heard said in a statement at the time. “Only fans made ‘Aquaman’ and ‘Aquaman 2’. I’m excited to start next year.”

The movie “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” is scheduled for release on March 17, 2023.
