The central cast of Mio Tomita as Riku, Maria Issei as Reg, and Shiori Izawa as Nanachi are set to return with new additions for the second season including Misaki Kono as Fabuta and Yuka Terasaki as Fuiko, Hiroaki Hirata as Wazukian and Mitsuki Saiga as Pilaf, Hiroki Goto. As Magicaga, Kana Ichinos as Ma, Kimiko Saito as Muuji, and Ryota Takeuchi as Gaboro.

HIDIVE has announced that it will be broadcasting the second season of Made in Abyss along with its release in Japan as part of its lineup of the animation schedule for Summer 2022.
